Tastings, with any theme!
Tasting Craft Beer offers beer tastings! Tastings are events that are all about tasting beer with a story. You pick the story you want to hear, I pick the beers (and if you want, some accompanying side dishes). Any theme that relates to beer in some way (beer styles, countries, life events, comparisons, ...) is suited to organize a tasting around. If you have ideas: let's discuss!
In order to get you started in the creative process of finding a suitable tasting theme, here are some ideas! You can follow these, adapt them to your own preferences, or come up with something entirely different. All up to you.
- The History of IPA
Without a doubt, IPA is one of the most popular beer styles these days, with tens of sub-styles and new incarnations poping up almost dayly. We will trace back the history of this style, starting roughly 300 years ago. Where will the future bring us? - The Battle of the European Beer Cultures
Europe has a rich history in beer and beer cultures have grown and evolved. The German, Belgian and British cultures can be seen as the three pillars of contemporary European beer. We will compare them, find out the differences and see how combining elements from different cultures lead to interestingnew beers, or even completely new beer styles. - Grains of the World
Barley is the most commonly used grain for beer, for good reasons. Styles with a lot of wheat are also common, and grains like oats and rye are can be found in every well-assorted bottle shop. What is the effect on the beer that these garins have? What is all this variety good for? After this tasting you'll be able to impress friends and family by blindly recognizing the ingredient list on any bottle! - Wine Lovers
You don't need to be afraid to admit that you prefer wine over beer: to each their own! I would love to take the challenge to convince you of beer as a very good alternative, though. We will sample beers that in production process, flavor profile or overall experience get close to what you are used to. Are you ready to be amazed?
